Beoncye Knowles is a singer/songwriter/dancer/actress/model that has managed to infiltrate almost every aspect of Hollywood fame.  This past year, Forbes ranked  Beoncye at number two on their “World's Most Powerful and Influential Celebrities” list.  Beoncye hails from Houston, TX, starting out her career as a child in several different performing arts schools and went on to be the lead singer of one of the most profitable all girl groups in history, Destiny's Child.

Beoncye's solo career has been every bit as successful as her stint with Destiny's Child.  Her first solo album Dangerously in Love was released in 2003 and was an instant success on both the pop and R&B charts.  Her second album, B'Day, was released three years later in 2006 and was every bit as successful as her first.  Her most recent album, I am…. Sasha Fierce, was released in 2008 and is best known for its single girl anthem “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it)”.  She won several awards back when she was with Destiny's Child but has won even more as a solo artist.

Beoncye isn't a one trick pony.  She is also an actress and spokes model for brands such as Pepsi and L'Oreal cosmetics.  She is also most memorable for her role in Dreamgirls (2006) and for showing off her humorous side in Austin Powers: Goldmember (2002) playing the role of Foxy Cleopatra.  She also starred opposite Cuba Gooding Jr. in The Fighting Temptations (2003).

Did you say fashion?  Yes, Beyonce does that too.  In 2005 Beyonce collaborated with her mother to introduce the world the House of Dereon, a women only fashion line.  House of Dereon sells everything from jeans to handbags and even sportswear.  Beyonce has even worked with a local show company called House of Brands to create House of Dereon footwear. 

Beoncye likes to keep mum when it comes to her personal life.  She started dating rapper Jay-Z in 2002 and they eventually married in 2008 in New York City at a private ceremony after years of speculation they were already married and/or engaged.  Beoncye's personal struggles are not often in the media spotlight as she does her best to keep her personal life personal.  However, back when Destiny's Child disbanded in 2000, she was accused of causing the split by the media and said once in an interview that she suffered from depression because of it.  Regardless of why Destiny's Child split up, let's be happy they did because  Beoncye is a force to be reckoned with and we love her for it.
